It is always a matter of interest who are the voices behind the characters in an animated series. Cleveland and Rolla are show’s two main characters and they have been given voice by Mike Henry. The voice of characters which appear once in a while on the show is also provided by Henry. Donna, the wife of Cleveland has been given voice by Sanaa Lathan who did not have much to show on dubbing front before this show.
The step daughter of Cleveland, Roberta has been voiced by Reagan Gomez though the character was voiced by Nia Long in the first season. Cleveland Jr. has been voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. In fact Richardson has also dubbed for Cleveland’s next door neighbor Lester Krinklesac.
If one checks out the way the show has been rated and the feedback the people have given is varied. The tendency of the viewers to compare the Cleveland Show with Family Guy is obvious and many feel that it was no way near to the show in terms of comedy. They feel that the level is not up to the mark and it should be shut down soon. There are others as well who liked the show and found it enjoyable more so after the first few episodes when it was felt that actors have settled down into their roles.
The show has offensiveness, randomness, colorful characters and musical elements, something which are always present in Macfarlane’s animated shows. Whether the show succeeds like other animated shows of Macfarlane will be decided later but the show has slowly but surely found its place. In fact the show was also nominated at the 36th People’s choice awards in the category of best new TV comedy.
